Here is a funny video that has some good tips in it! :
Although the video and picture I posted are meant to be funny, lack of physical activity and the growing obesity problem in America are both incredibly alarming. There are several things you can do each day to get extra exercise. For example, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, as well as parking further from your destination are just a few simple things you can do every day. Most people these days don’t have time to go to the gym or spend time jogging or running. To help out those who live a fast paced life here are a few tips:
1. Clean! Doing housework is a great way to help burn extra calories. You’ll be getting a good workout and you’ll be getting your heart rate up.
2. Start fidgeting. I know as a child you were probably told to sit still, but fidgeting your feet under your desk or twiddling your hands and fingers is a great way to keep moving and burning calories.
3. Suck it in. Although this may sound silly, sucking in your tummy for several minutes straight each day can help tighten your abs and whittle your waist. No one will even know!
4. Do simple exercises such as jumping jacks, sit-ups, pushup, etc. during the commercial breaks of your favorite TV show.
5. Turn up the radio and DANCE. Just make sure you shut your blinds so no one secretly sees you.
6. Take a walk around campus during class or work breaks.
7. Buy a pedometer and try to achieve at least 8,000 steps in a day.
8. Wash your car. Your car will appreciate it.
9. Have a dog? Take him/her for a stroll after dinner.
10. Anything that gets your heart rate up is beneficial, so do it!

Do you know of any quick tricks to get your heart pumping?
For those with a good sense of humor (prepare yourself for this one!):

Julie, you page is so cute and it look great so far. I love the fact that you have thought ten tips because I found them so interesting. Good job so far. A lot of good info!
ReplyDeleteWOW!! those ten tips are actually very helpful! With a schedule like mine, sometimes its hard for me to get to the gym when I want to go. On days like those I always do a coupe sit-ups just to make myself feel good. Just a very little bit of exercise a day can help. Also on days that I cant make it to the gym, I tend to look more at the foods that Im eating. I think it bothers me so much that I cant go to the gym everyday because in high school I used to workout every day, but in high school, everything was so much easier, not just my schedule. Anyways you had some great info and I found it super interesting! Also the videos were GREAT!
ReplyDeleteI loved how you added the funny pictures and videos. It definitely caught my attention and made me want to read what you had to say. The tips you listed made me realize that there are absolutely no excuses for not getting a little exercise into our daily lives. They are so simple and can easily be incorporated into even the busiest of days. I look forward to seeing what you post next!
